]]>Anthroposophybayarea.org is a WordPress website, and WordPress makes it fairly easy to log into the website dashboard to upload new posts. Then, a magical email plugin sends an email out once a week (Wednesday nights) when there are new posts. So simple! The WordPress site manages all of the email list add-ins and opt-outs and email formatting.
We need some volunteers who are willing to receive email with requests to post information to the email list/website, and then to transfer event information and pictures into the website as a new “post.” Organizations who regularly put on events are able to sign up as users to post their own events.
We could also use a volunteer who is willing to check out and update all the information on the website regarding California anthroposophical institutions, schools, groups, etc. This would mean checking links to see if they work and if addresses are current, and email some groups to follow up to make sure they are still meeting and that the information is current.
Ideally, someone would be willing to step forward who could slowly take over full administration of the site. This would mean getting to know WordPress a bit better, logging in periodically to activate the recommended updates, and setting up new users (such as organizations who could add their own posts) with a user account and permissions. There are a lot of ways to learn WordPress available online, and you can also receive help from the old webmaster.
One further volunteer possibility is for someone to check in periodically with the Anthroposophical Society of America regarding new members in California who may want to sign up for the email list. Cross-posting significant events onto the ASA calendar could also be quite helpful.
Please, if you would like to help out in any way, simply email [email protected]. So many people will be grateful, including those who appreciate knowing what’s going on anthroposophically in California!
The website costs several hundred dollars to host annually, which is currently being donated mostly by just one person. We could really use some donations annually to help with the costs. Please consider helping out by sending a check payable to Susan Overhauser to the address at the bottom of the email you received. Thank you so much for your support!

A full-scale–production tour
with a full cast of twelve actors and eurythmists
is in the works to premiere in September, 2023.

Crafted from actual events and discourse, Fire in the Temple, dramatizes Rudolf Steiner’s final months and brings to the stage the people around him, including two extraordinary women, Marie Steiner von Sivers and Dr. Ita Wegman, both of whom stood by him until the very day of his death – and beyond. Their personal conflicts, hopes and sorrows are sensitively portrayed in this rigorously researched drama.

Switzerland, 1923. Spiritual teacher and clairvoyant Rudolf Steiner works to waken people to hidden realities. Religious and political enemies oppose him, and his pupils struggle to grasp their task. But ancient memories and faithful friendships persist.

Please help create this historic centennial achievement. Ticket sales can only cover about fifteen percent of the costs. Our professional cast and crew will be giving up their everyday employment to devote themselves one hundred percent to this worthy task for several weeks, and they deserve appropriate compensation. Your donation will also help fund their travel, housing and meals, as well as original music, sets, costumes, lighting and sound. (Your donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.)
Thank you for supporting our vision and being a part of this extraordinary undertaking. Any amount you give will help us achieve our goal.

Getting to Know Vidar
A talk by Susan Overhauser
Sunday, January 15, 3:15pm
San Francisco Waldorf High School
470 West Portal Ave., San Francisco
As Michael transitioned from Archangel to Archai, the being known as Vidar stepped into Michael’s position as ruling Archangel. Who is this being, and how does he relate to Michael and Christ?
This talk will provide some background information about the being known as Vidar and his importance for our current time. Vidar is known from Norse mythology as an Aesir (god) who survives Ragnarok and conquers the Fenris Wolf who is trying to devour the sun. Vidar can help us achieve the forces and discernment needed to conquer Ahrimanic and Luciferic influences.
Vidar has been active for a very long time, in close connection with Christ. Vidar is also connected to Buddhism, and to the purified forces of the “sister soul of Adam,” forces that did not go through the fall of man. Vidar’s task is very relevant to our times, and to the development of a true etheric clairvoyance. A verse for Vidar will be shared at the conclusion of the talk.

Karen L. Rivers

Join us for a study of Karen River’s book, and begin the work of transformation by learning about and identifying the Double in your own biography. Helping each other through conversations we will work to identify impulses and patterns, and strive to lift them into more ennobled ways of expression.
This online study group is forming at the moment, and we will most likely be meeting via zoom on a bi-weekly rhythm on Mondays at 7 pm.
Please contact [email protected], or [email protected], for more information and to sign up.
