Renewal of Science Conference

October 4, 2024 By Leslie Murchy

The Foundation for Cultural Renewal  https://www.renewalofculture.org/ – invites you to a conference that will bring together various streams of science under one umbrella, including color, heat, electromagnetism, astronomy, chemistry, biology, social science and a discussion on AI.

The Natural Science Section, Medical Section, and (tentatively) the Pedagogical Section of the Anthroposophical Society will be represented at this conference.  It will be ideal for anyone who has an interest in the basic ideas of science, and even suited to those in a university or tech sector setting. Both those who are familiar with anthroposophy and those who are not should find significant value in the presentations. It would also be a great help for Waldorf pedagogy, and hence could also double up as teacher training for faculty or as a field trip for 10th-12th grade students. If parents want to know more about the source of the scientific ideas their kids are being taught – this should work for them too. Note that students have the option of requesting a scholarship.

Date: October 31st – November 2nd, 2024

Location: Computer History Museum, Mountain View, CA

Michael Festival this Sunday in San Francisco

September 25, 2024 By Monika Leitz

You are warmly invited to join us for a Michael Festival on Sunday, September 29, 3-5 pm, @2938 Washington St., Dakin Hall, Grade School campus of SFWS. The Bay Area Eurythmy Ensemble in collaboration with Bruce Donehower are preparing to take you on a journey through the themes of Rudolf Steiner’s last address culminating in the Michael Imagination. You may wish to read the text prior to the gathering but you are certainly welcome without having done so.

Parking in the neighborhood is limited and public transportation or ride share is encouraged. If you come in your own vehicle please leave ample time to find parking in the neighborhood.

A sliding scale donation $10-20/person at the door is welcome. Thank you for supporting the artists.

We are using the following translation:

Michael Imagination

Springing from powers of the sun,

Luminous, world-blessing

Spirit-powers, to be Michael’s garment of rays

You are foreordained by the thinking of gods.

He, the Christ-proclaimer, reveals in you––

Mankind sustaining––holy cosmic will;

You, the bright world-ether beings,

Bear the Christ-Word to human beings.

So Christ’s herald appears

To waiting, thirsting souls.

To them, your word of light streams forth

In the world-age of spirit-man.

You, students of spirit-knowledge,

Take Michael’s wise directing,

Take the word of love of the will of worlds

Into your souls’ high aims––actively.

Rudolf Steiner

Michael Celebration in San Francisco

September 11, 2024 By Monika Leitz

You are warmly invited to join us in a festival celebration to honor the spirit of Micha-el. The Bay Area Eurythmy Ensemble has been inspired to work with the Michael Imagination by Rudolf Steiner in preparation for this festival and aims to trace he arc or Rudolf Steiner’s last address (given September 28, 1924) as a centenary tribute. Through eurythmy, speech and visual art we offer an artistic experience of the individualities R.Steiner mentions in this final talk.

Bruce Donehower will follow with a talk addressing the significance of Novalis and connect this to the festival of Michael.

We hope to welcome you at 2938 Washington Street, Dakin Hall* at 3 pm for this special event. Doors open at 2.30 pm.

Parking in the neighborhood is very limited and SFWS requests that you consider taking public transport or ride share as much as possible. If you come in your own vehicle please plan for ample time to find legal parking.

For more information contact Monika Leitz, through [email protected]

*please note this is the Grade School campus of SFWS

Ways to Social Healing

September 3, 2024 By Mark Zweifel

Introductory Course 10/24 – 10/27

Methods for meditative work and spiritual schooling

While we tried our best at writing an introduction to this work (see: https://social-healing.org/books/), experience shows that it is really helpful to be introduced to the practices by experienced practitioners.

On this page, we will provide ways for you to get in touch if you’re interested in trying out methods like the Logic of the Heart for finding Inner Peace and your sense for truth, the Logic of the Will for finding just and harmonizing actions in the world, Image Dialogue Work for getting an in-depth understanding of life situations and karmic tasks, or Spiritual Dialogue Meditation which is a deepening of all the previous practices and gradually strengthens your connection to your Higher Self, unfolds your potential capacities, and connects you to your life mission or vocation, i.e. the conscious application of your capacities for the benefit of others.

More about the Basic Methods and & Preparation for Spiritual Awakening

You’re invited to a 3,5-day in-person workshop in San Rafael to experience an introduction to the Basic Methods of Social Healing.

Dates: 10/24 – 10/27

Times: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm PDT
